I am the Unit Director of the Teen Center at the Boys and Girls Club of the Sandhills, and I have been serving youth here for nearly eleven years. I first started volunteering at the Club in 2014 as part of a college internship, and I quickly realized this was more than just a place, it was a purpose.
Every day, I work to create a safe, fun, and structured space where teens can grow into better versions of themselves. My role includes building programs that focus on leadership, academics, life skills, and helping teens navigate real-life situations. I lead a team that puts kids first, making sure our staff are well trained and that every young person feels supported, respected, and motivated.
I also work closely with families, schools, and community groups to make sure teens have the tools they need to succeed. Outside of the Club, I am a basketball coach and trainer, helping student athletes build confidence, discipline, and skills that prepare them for the next level. I also provide mental health support through in-home services for youth who are at risk or going through tough challenges.
I am the founder of GBBALLERS, a nonprofit that combines sports, mentoring, and life coaching to build strong leaders. I am also known as DJ Gee Bee, using music to bring joy to events and connect with the community. This work is more than a job to me; it is my purpose, and I believe every teen who walks through our doors deserves someone who shows up for them.
