Last Monday morning, a group of our Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills members had the experience of a lifetime at Pinehurst Resort. Thanks to the generosity of the United States Golf Association (USGA), they got an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the U.S. Open, immersing themselves in the world of professional golf and broadcasting.
The day was made even more special by the presence of John Wood from the NBC broadcasting team. John shared fascinating insights about his role, the intricacies of golf commentary, and the unique energy of the U.S. Open. His passion and enthusiasm were truly inspiring for our Club members.
Adding to the magic, the kids had the incredible opportunity to meet golf legend Matt Kuchar! They also got to sit behind the players’ press box, experiencing the event from a perspective few ever get to see.
